About My Clients
You're welcome here as you are, in the body you have and the relationships you're in. I work with people who give their lives to something larger than themselves and are carrying the cost of a troubled world: grief, trauma, illness, rupture, doubt. Maybe you sense a life you're meant to live but can't find the door. Maybe you and your partner long for closeness but keep repeating old cycles. I work with individuals and couples and as a queer woman, I warmly welcome folks in the LGBTQ+ community.
My Background and Approach
I offer depth-oriented therapy for individuals and couples navigating life transitions, inherited family patterns, questions of identity and purpose, and the turbulent waters of grief and trauma. Together, we make space for what is heaviest to move through you and reshape you, rather than leave you in pieces, and we discern what you're ready to release and what wants to grow in its place. We'll slow down and pay attention to what your body and if it feels right, bring in the teachings of nature, or your dreams. For couples work I also draw on Emotionally Focused Therapy. Before becoming a therapist, I was a community organizer and wilderness guide. I hold master's degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Sustainable Communities, and have trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy, somatic and grief work, and rites of passage with the School of Lost Borders and Animas Valley Institute.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe healing is a practice, and that it happens in relationship: with our bodies, with each other, with our families, and with the land. Shame is something we're taught, often by systems far larger than us, and it doesn't have to be yours to carry. No body, identity, or way of loving needs correcting to deserve care, and grief is a way of belonging to each other and the earth. I also believe new patterns are possible, in families, in relationships and in ourselves. I know this partly from my own life as the daughter of parents affected by addiction. As a feminist, I'm informed by queer and feminist thought and ecopsychology, and I live and practice on the traditional, unceded homelands of the Cherokee.
