About My Clients
I understand that each client is unique, as are their needs concerning their mental health. That is why I create a client-centered atmosphere in which we work together, through active listening, empathy, and genuine collaboration. I also like to incorporate different methods such as art, play, and mindfulness into my practice depending on the interests of my client.
My Background and Approach
I believe my strength as a clinician is in relationship-building and in meeting clients exactly where they are as we process thoughts, experiences, and emotions with the purpose of improving well-being in their daily lives. My clinical background is with children, adolescents, adults, and families in both individual and group settings. I have worked with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, school-related issues, life transitions, bereavement, and I am passionate working with members of the LGBTQ+ community. My focus is in building a safe, and warm environment for every person of every age and background.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
We, the staff at AMK Counseling, support the movement of interrupting inequitable systems in our greater Chicago community. We are committed to continued activism, learning, listening, supporting and serving not only our individual, family and couples clients, but also our community at large. As a result, AMK is committed to extending services to under-resourced communities. AMK is able to do so by working in partnership with community organizations and by offering services to a broader population.
