About My Clients
I work with a wide range of clients, children (12+) through adults, who are often navigating life transitions, identities, relational conflicts, and/or traumatic or stressful life events. I have a special interest, as a queer and genderfluid therapist, of working with queer, trans, and nonbinary folx. I also primarily work with trauma, particularly survivors of sexual violence.
My Background and Approach
I believe that presenting symptoms are adaptive and protective forms of coping that you have learned over time. We are influenced and impacted by the many contexts in which we live, whether that be familial systems or systems of oppression. Uncovering root causes to symptoms and gently diving deeper into self awareness and understanding of your past and present experiences will be the cornerstone of our time together. I strive to create a safe, collaborative, and warm space where we can explore, gain insight, and make meaning of your unique lived experiences. This cannot be done without a strong and trusting therapeutic relationship. I firmly believe that the relationship between therapist and client is one that promotes change and healing outside of our shared space.
