Loss can be a shattering experience. Whether it's the death of a beloved partner, family member, friend, or even a major medical diagnosis, relationship breakup, or job loss, you know your life will never be the same. You're not even sure how to pick up the pieces, let alone how to rebuild your life. Yet, much like kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold, therapy can offer you a place to rebuild your shattered spirit in a transformational way.
My Background and Approach
My approach is informed by a background in the arts, education, and community organizing. Working together, I aim to empower you to rebuild your life in line with what matters most to you using your own unique strengths, talents, and life experiences. In therapy, we'll dig to uncover what drives you. Maybe you have a passion for the arts, or you thrive on advocacy work. We'll talk about ways to bring more of that vibrancy into your life, and we'll figure out tools to help reduce your distress.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I came to counseling by way of community organizing, and I believe therapy can be a powerful tool in creating a kinder, fairer world. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community and as a poly- and neurodiversity-affirming therapist, I welcome and encourage exploration of gender, sexuality, race, religion/spirituality, and identity in the therapy room. I deeply value being able to connect with people cross-culturally, and love doing so through art, music, and learning languages.
