About My Clients
I work with children, teens, adults, and couples navigating depression, anxiety, anger, bipolar disorder, trauma, social anxiety, neurodivergence, and LGBTQ+ experiences. I also specialize in working with men’s issues, many of whom may have been taught to hide or minimize their emotions. As a man, I understand how difficult it can be to unlearn those messages and develop a healthier relationship with your emotions.
My Background and Approach
I utilize an integrative, trauma-informed approach and use CBT to help us identify thought patterns, beliefs, and behaviors that may be affecting your day-to-day life, and also incorporate DBT to expand your emotional toolkit and develop practical strategies you can carry with you beyond our sessions. One thing that remains consistent in my approach is the importance I place on building a strong therapeutic relationship. I bring person-centered techniques, humor, warmth, and a relaxed energy to our work. While therapy can certainly have its difficult moments, I believe there is also room to laugh along the way. I’ve always turned to people who make me laugh during challenging times, and I believe humor can be a meaningful way to connect and remind us of our own shared humanity.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a queer person myself, I understand the importance of having a therapist who can meet you with understanding and affirmation. I’m committed to continually learning, listening, and better understanding the experiences that make each person unique. I also specialize in working with men’s issues, many of whom may have been taught to hide or minimize their emotions. As a man, I understand how difficult it can be to unlearn those messages and develop a healthier relationship with your emotions. My own experiences in therapy have shaped how I approach this work, and I value creating a space where you can explore these parts of yourself without judgment. Therapy isn’t always fun. It can be challenging, uncomfortable, and even tiring at times. I believe good therapy has both highs and lows. We’ll laugh, cry, and experience everything in between together. And who knows? We might even have a little fun along the way. Wild, I know.
