About My Clients
You may be seeking a non-judgmental and knowledgeable space to better understand your experiences of gender, sexuality, and relationships. You might be experiencing barriers in your sexual and relational health: you feel out of control, disconnected, or stuck in painful patterns. Or you may seek a space that affirms your gender and sexuality, non-traditional relationships, and your intersectional identities to discuss other mental health needs or life transitions. I welcome all of you here.
My Background and Approach
My work as a sexuality professional is rooted in nearly 15 years of engagement with grassroots community organizing, academic theory and research, and my own personal journeys. I received a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Naropa University in 2019 , and have received additional training in sex therapy, somatic trauma therapy, and couples/relationship therapy. I utilize mindfulness, somatics, and emotionally focused modalities to attend to whatever is arising that is causing distress, stuckness, confusion, or pain, and to re-connect you to your own innate strengths and wellness.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a Queer, mixed-race/mixed-culture individual, born and raised in Queens, NY, who has often navigated society in the in-between. My lived experience has informed my roots as a therapist in anti-oppression frameworks of therapy that incorporates queer, feminist, critical, and liberation psychologies with responsiveness to the impacts of power, privilege, and oppression, as well as historical and intergenerational traumas, on individual and collective mental health. I am endlessly deepening into intimacy with my own intersectional identities and lived experiences, and I am comfortable holding nuanced reflections about power in relationships. I am committed to participation in movements for social justice and collective liberation, including within institutions, in extended community, and in intimate relationships.
