Kevin Angulo

I am a bilingual counselor fluent in Spanish and my approach to counseling is eclectic in nature. I believe in a non-directive approach to counseling, in which self-reflection is facilitated and clients can explore, discover, understand and ultimately overcome their struggles. I draw from various approaches including person-centered, narrative, gestalt and cognitive behavioral therapy. I strive to tailor my approach specifically to each client in order to better serve them and their particular needs.

I am a counselor who wholeheartedly believes that all humans have an innate value. The beliefs I hold about humans are precisely what have led me to pursue a career as a mental health professional. The intrinsic value we all possess can sometimes be lost or forgotten. Adversity and pain not only rob individuals of their self-worth, but also keeps them from becoming the best version of themselves. It is my job to provide the space and support others may need to rediscover their inherent value and overcome adversity. Trauma, addiction, hardship and other multilayered mental health issues do not define a person’s worth or what they can achieve. It is my mission and passion to remind my fellow humans of this and support them as they navigate their unique struggles. In order to do this effectively, I believe in a holistic approach to counseling that treats the mind, body and spirit.
