About My Clients
Do you feel worried, uneasy, or unable to get your brain to rest? Do you ever feel stressed, overwhelmed, or that in some way you’re falling behind in life? Do you ever feel frustrated, burnt out, or as if your best isn’t enough? Do you ever feel misunderstood, under-appreciated, or that regardless of what you try you aren’t heard. Are you navigating relationships or transitions that are devastating, painful, infuriating, or lonely? Are you upset that you are feeling any of these ways? I get it.
My Background and Approach
Life throws a lot at us sometimes and navigating those experiences, relationships, and transitions can be overwhelming especially doing it alone. My goal as a therapist is to provide a space that feels safe and accepting so that we are able to process, unravel and make sense of overwhelming, confusing, frustrating, disappointing, and painful realities. I combine people's inner wisdom about themselves with my knowledge and skills to help people find healing, connection and thriving. My experience has equipped me to work with those struggling with symptoms of anxiety, and depression, as well as those navigating challenges with transitions, relationships, traumatic experiences, executive functioning, identity, self-worth, perfectionism, and overthinking.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am an ally and a defender of racial, gender and social justice. In working with clients, I pay attention to systemic injustices that can be traumatic and create very real hinderances for people. I look for opportunities to produce more understanding and better systems that create equity and value diversity. I recognize my own privilege and am constantly trying to unlearn my own biases. I work at being a constant learner, approaching my therapeutic work like the rest of my life with humility and open-minded curiosity. I grew up as a third culture kid (if that means anything to anyone) and have experiences living in several different countries throughout my life. And so, I am passionate about helping people navigate challenges of belonging, identity, transition and loss, and all the complex feelings and confusing distress that accompanies those challenges, in order to help people restore connection to themselves and others.
