About My Clients
Changes in our thought patterns, beliefs, and actions can have an impact on how we are managing ourselves and viewing our current circumstances. The physical symptoms of anxiety can be overwhelming, the low mood and isolation of depression can feel lonely and debilitating, the sudden transitions and adjustments in our lives can catch us completely off guard. I want to help clients not only manage symptoms but create awareness of how their symptoms are affecting them.
My Background and Approach
I approach therapy through the lens of collaboration. That is, I see therapy as a space where the client and I are working together to both explore and examine their presenting challenges and issues. The therapist is a an anchor of support, safety, non-judgement and guidance, rather than providing direct answers. I utilize approaches to help the client challenge, reframe or refocus unhelpful thought patterns and beliefs. The client is also learning to apply self-compassion and discover their own solutions in order to put themselves in control of their own choices, while learning to develop a healthier outlook regarding themselves individually.
