About My Clients
I work with kids, teens, and adults who have been affected by grief and loss, trauma, or significant change. Folks experience so many different types of loss in life, whether that be the death of a loved one, changes within family structure, or the loss of old routines and feelings of safety. We all need a space to recognize feelings, talk about the people or things they’ve lost, or just set down what you're carrying for an hour.
My Approach to Helping
So much can change in life from week to week, so I take a person-centered approach to therapy, meeting whatever feelings are present that day. You don't have to know how to process grief and loss or stress from life transitions. I'll work with you to support where you are at this time in your life. My training is in Art Therapy and Counseling. I am a Provisional Art Therapist and Resident in Counseling in Virginia.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe art therapy is for everyone. Even if you’ve never held a paintbrush before, we can work together to find a style of art therapy that works for you. I don’t expect you to have all the answers, and know that stressful experiences are made even more stressful when we can’t find the words to describe them. That’s why I use art therapy to help you release, rewrite, and heal stories from the past. The creative process lets you transcend traditional talk therapy to get right to the heart of the matter and rediscover your own version of wellbeing.
