About My Clients
Many of the individuals and couples I work with find themselves caught in relationship patterns that leave them feeling anxious, disconnected, or emotionally overwhelmed. You may struggle with trusting others, fear abandonment, overanalyze interactions, have difficulty setting boundaries, or repeatedly find yourself in relationships that don't feel healthy or secure.
My Background and Approach
I am a clinically licensed psychotherapist and board certified counselor in Chicago, IL. I have 10 years experience supporting individuals and couples. My approach integrates attachment-based therapy with emotionally focused, psychodynamic, and trauma-informed principles. I also incorporate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills to help clients build practical tools for managing intense emotions, improving communication, increasing mindfulness, and navigating relationships more effectively. Together, we will explore both your current concerns and the underlying relational experiences that have contributed to them. As we develop a deeper understanding of these patterns, we'll work to cultivate greater emotional awareness while developing concrete strategies to support meaningful change in your daily life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My early career focused on supporting a wide variety of issues and especially those who suffered from self harm and suicidal thoughts. As my career continued I realized there was a common thread between those who were suffering the most. They felt lonely. A lot of my work centers around helping individuals meet their need for connection. Now as a licensed therapist with a fair amount of experience I do my best to identify those who are struggling with feeling of loneliness, become part of their community, and show them how to better connect with others. I am a trauma informed and black identified therapist and I believe in supporting the whole self and taking a holistic approach to treatment.
