About My Clients
I offer EMDR, Written Exposure Therapy, and Image Rehearsal Therapy — methods with strong evidence bases for PTSD, trauma, and nightmare disorder. I also weave in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to help clients reconnect with what matters and build a life that isn't defined by what they've been through. All sessions are via telehealth. I'm licensed in New Mexico and currently accepting new clients.
My Background and Approach
My work is rooted in trauma-focused, evidence-based modalities. I practice from a trauma-informed, evidence-based framework. That means I use methods that research shows actually work for trauma — not just supportive listening, but structured, goal-oriented treatment with clear phases and measurable progress. EMDR helps the brain reprocess traumatic memories so they lose their charge. Written Exposure Therapy guides clients through structured narrative writing that systematically reduces distress. Image Rehearsal Therapy targets trauma-related nightmares directly — one of the most disruptive and undertreated PTSD symptoms. Acceptance and Committment Therapy (ACT) runs throughout as a values-based framework: helping you get unstuck from avoidance and move toward the life you actually want to live. I work collaboratively and transparently. You'll always know what we're doing and why.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Trauma has a way of making the past feel present. Whether you're a veteran, a first responder, or someone who has survived something that left a mark — you don't have to keep white-knuckling your way through it. My practice, Mindful Point Behavioral Health Counseling, is built around the idea that healing isn't about talking around what happened — it's about actually processing it, with the right tools and a provider who gets it. As an Army veteran, I've lived the experience of navigating stress, transition, and the particular culture of military service. I became a therapist because I saw how many veterans and first responders carry enormous weight — often in silence — and how rarely they find providers who truly understand their world. My practice exists to close that gap. You deserve care from someone who doesn't need a translator.
