About My Clients
I have worked with clients in severe emotional distress, and also with clients who just feel a need to "find a new path forward". Some of my clients come for brief intensive counseling during a crisis while others to do longer-term work on a quest for self-understanding and freedom from past painful experiences. Couples counseling is also part of my practice. I work extensively with the LGBTQ+ community and clients who have felt marginalized for racial, sexual , bodily, and age related reasons.
My Background and Approach
I value a client-centered approach and feel it's important to take my time to truly get to know the people in my practice. Above all, I want therapy to be a useful, meaningful experience that helps create change in a person's life. I've had clients with severe mental illness, borderline/narcissistic personality disorders, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and those who simply have a genuine desire to know themselves better.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I value a non-judgmental approach that encourages people to evolve and grow. I believe we are responsible for our own healing and recovery and that "therapy" is mostly a process to help someone access their own, inner power to heal.
