About My Clients
I work best with individuals ages 18-45 who hope to better manage anxiety and depression or cope with life transitions such as career changes, sudden loss, pregnancy/postpartum, or relationship challenges. I also enjoy working with couples using the Gottman Method.
My Background and Approach
My specialties are depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, job stress/career transitions, and relationship issues. I’m drawn to these areas through a combination of professional exposure, education and training, and lived experiences. My goal is to create an affirming, strengths-focused environment while also working collaboratively with clients to challenge the self-concepts and behaviors that have led to distress. I incorporate a variety of evidence-based and mindfulness techniques (ACT, CBT, DBT, RO-DBT, attachment theory) that are tailored based on the issues at hand and the client’s goals, interactive style, and prior experience with therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
From a young age, had a strong sense that I wanted to be in a service-oriented profession. I spent time exploring this in different settings and throughout the years I have worked as an ESL teacher, a volunteer coordinator, a hospital social worker, a social impact software trainer, a sexual assault survivor’s advocate, and a graduate student advisor. I care deeply about racial justice, disability rights, suicide prevention, and gun violence prevention. I am an ally to the LGBTQ+ community. My recent volunteering includes the Crisis Text Line, food pantries in my community, and phone banking/canvassing for various causes and political candidates. I strive to continuously gain training and consultation so that I can deepen my knowledge and treat additional specialized issues.
