I enjoy helping people understand the underlying causes of anxiety while also addressing ways of managing the symptoms as we work to resolve the causes. We will collaborate to address the immediate symptoms through your strengths while also addressing the deeper roots of anxiety.

Your experience with grief is unique in the that everyone experiences grief in their own way. We will explore how the symptoms are impacting your day-to-day life, and we will collaborate on ways we can reconnect and honor the loss.

I have worked for several years in behavioral health at a group home in southeast Missouri, where I treated adolescents and families in the criminal justice system for trauma-related issues, grief/loss, addiction, and sexual offenses. During my time in Missouri, I also learned and utilized Adventure Based Counseling techniques, which I continue to incorporate into my therapeutic style. My approach to teen issues and teen therapy is to be collaborative and flexible while building upon strengths.

I believe the relationship between client and therapist is the foundation for all further treatment. I understand that the process of therapy can be very intimidating, and I am dedicated to creating a space where you can feel safe, can be heard, and can grow.

I approach Trauma Therapy with a Trauma Informed Perspective. This begins with establishing the feeling of safety as I listen and seek to understand your experience. I want to honor the experience as your own and acknowledge you are the master over your own life. We will work to explore the roots of trauma and collaborate to identify and create skills to help you stay regulated and feel safe.
