About My Clients
I work with individuals who feel caught between cultures, beliefs, or identities. Many of my clients are first- or second-generation immigrants, former members of high-demand religions, or people navigating major life transitions. They may struggle with anxiety, depression, shame, people-pleasing, emotional numbness, or feeling disconnected from themselves. I support clients seeking clarity, self-trust, and a stronger sense of belonging.
My Background and Approach
I am a licensed clinical social worker with experience in private practice and higher levels of care. I work with teens, adults, couples, and families, and regularly facilitate DBT skills groups. My approach is integrative and trauma-informed, drawing from DBT, CBT, ACT, IFS, and somatic practices. I focus on emotional regulation, nervous system awareness, attachment patterns, and identity development. I am especially experienced in working with religious trauma, cultural identity stress, life transitions, and relational challenges. Therapy with me is collaborative, paced, and grounded in emotional safety, helping clients build insight, resilience, and confidence without shame.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe healing starts with being deeply understood. Many struggles make sense when viewed through culture, family systems, trauma, and lived experience. I value compassion, curiosity, and honesty over judgment or quick fixes. I believe emotions are signals, not problems, and learning to tolerate them leads to meaningful change. I am committed to anti-shame and culturally responsive care and believe identity is layered and evolving. Therapy is not about fixing who you are, but reconnecting with parts of yourself that were silenced, helping you move forward with clarity, self-acceptance, and pride in who you are becoming.
