About My Clients
I support adult individuals, adolescents, and children in a wide variety of concerns. I love working with the following clients: - People wanting to connect on a deeper level with themselves and explore their emotions - Children struggling with anxiety, perfectionism, trauma, or self esteem concerns - Teens who need a place to explore their identity, build coping skills, increase their self esteem, and feel their feelings - LGBTQIA+ individuals on any part their journey of identity exploration
My Background and Approach
I completed my practicum at The Family Institute and my second year internship at Skylight Counseling Center. I am currently a staff therapist at Urban Wellness Counseling in Edison Park, Chicago. My practice is centered in the creation of a safe and sacred space that fosters healing, transformation, and empowerment. I draw from Psychodynamic and Attachment theory perspectives but integrate aspects of art and play therapy to adapt to the varied needs of my clients. When working with you or your child, I'll listen deeply to understand where you're struggling, work with you to develop goals for treatment, aid you or your child in building an arsenal of coping strategies to deal with distressing symptoms, explore the roots and healing of any maladaptive patterns that may have developed in the past, and facilitate movement through painful feelings.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I view concerns through a systemic lens, and understand that power, privilege, and oppression play roles in each individual’s experience. I am committed to acknowledging and processing these relevant factors, and exploring how they may be contributing to my client's concerns. I welcome clients of all ethnic and racial backgrounds, genders, and sexual orientations. I also recognize the importance of feeling understood by your therapist and I welcome any and all questions about my own identity (although I will probably ask what it means to you as well).
