About My Clients

I am currently accepting clients for ketamine assisted therapy and psychedelic integration or harm reduction. I work with a range of clients, with many focused on depression, addictions or substance use, trauma, and anxiety disorders. I enjoy working with clients who seek to integrate mind-body-environment/culture via somatic (body focused), meditative, and cross cultural approaches.

My Background and Approach

I have a PhD in psychology and postgraduate training in harm reduction, community organizing, sensorimotor therapy, mindfulness meditation, and psychedelic assisted therapies. I regularly practice, teach, and research issues related to diversity and social justice, stigma, harm reduction approaches to substance use, and the therapeutic use of psychedelic substances. I am attentive to the ways culture and context impact mental and physical health, whether through identity-based stress and trauma, stress about political/economic/environmental conditions, cross cultural issues, or other ongoing stressors. I have worked in a range of settings, including community clinics, psychiatric hospitals, private practice, university counseling centers, homeless shelters, and addiction treatment.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My career has focused on issues of social justice. To that ends I have engaged in international work in Tanzania related to HIV/AIDS and stigma related to developmental disabilities and Autism. I am trained as a community organizer and have worked via public policy reform and community organizing to improve the treatment of people with mental illness and people who use drugs. I have engaged in racial justice and economic justice work. I also practiced for years with clients experiencing homelessness, disability, trauma, addiction, and chronic mental illness. My experiences have taught me that we have an innate capacity and orientation toward healing and growth, that nobody is as bad as the worst thing they've done, and that at our core we desire connection to our own essence, to nature, and to other people/community.
