About My Clients
f you feel stuck in a rut, have lost that drive in your life or you just need help getting over a bump in the road. You are not alone. I have worked with a variety of people, young professionals transitioning into the world of adulthood, college students; parents; families involved with the special education process and adults with chronic severe mental illness. I can help you too.I use a variety of evidence-based techniques to guide my clients from the feeling of being "stuck".
My Background and Approach
There are many different models, techniques and approaches to therapy, I use and have been trained in evidence-based therapies such as; Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which focuses on both thoughts and behaviors. I am trained in solution-focused therapy which is future-focused, goal-directed, and focuses on solutions. I have training in Community Resiliency Model (CRM) which has strategies for helping you to reduce your own stress as well as stressed out or upset children. I am also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy is an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma. EMDR therapy includes a set of standardized protocols that incorporate elements from many different treatment approaches.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a mother, an active member of the LGBTQ community orginally from Chicago and now living in Western North Carolina. I believe in everyone's individual right to pursue their personal path towards being happier.
