About My Clients
Relationships and associated experiences often reveal themselves in the daily decisions we make and our day-to-day interactions with others. Therefore, understanding our experiences and relationships as well as being self-aware are the foundations of a balanced well-being and healthy life.
My Background and Approach
Therapy is about building meaningful relationships. These bonds develop when participants are fully present, engaged, and invested in clinical work. It is most beneficial when clients and therapists work collaboratively to evaluate, challenge, and reconstruct systems-- all of which lead to a healthier and more fulfilling life. My success in providing treatment comes from my honesty and genuine interest in who my clients are and what motivates them. Clients respond well to my sense of humor and the secure space I provide to feel comfortable in disclosing their personal issues of concern. I adhere to an individually tailored psychodynamic treatment modality, trauma informed therapy and a relational approach, all of which place a strong emphasis on building relationships and trusting bonds. Through the therapeutic process of establishing and exploring boundaries, we can better understand and resolve experienced conflicts and traumas holding us back.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I stand in support of the Black community & LGBTQI community in solidarity against racism and injustice. That means I commit to learning how I can work together with all of my clients toward a future of equality. My practice is open to all and I look forward to continued efforts to recognize opportunities to not only discuss the Black Lives Matter movement and the current state of racial relations in America, but to do my part to raise awareness of systemic racism and to help dismantle that system, wherever possible.
