About My Clients
My ideal client is someone who is open to the process of therapy and exploring what avenues of treatment will work best for them. I understand that individuals come to therapy in many different stages of their mental health struggles and can tailor my approach to reflect the varying levels of motivation, eagerness, and difficulties with change that may be affecting each client.
My Background and Approach
I approach therapy by first gaining a thorough understanding of where each client is currently functioning and tailoring a plan to meet their unique needs and goals. It is very important to me to create a non-judgmental therapeutic environment in which her client can feel supported, validated, and nurtured. Though I tend to utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, I personalizes my therapeutic approach based on each client’s existing strengths, age, preferences, and goals to ensure that positive change is effective and lasting. I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lewis University. I have experience working with clients who struggle with depression, adoption/attachment issues, self-esteem/body-image issues, anxiety, domestic violence/trauma, strained parent-child relationships, family changes/transitions, school-related challenges, and identity concerns.
