About My Clients
I enjoy working with folks who are struggling to find their voice, especially kids and teens who struggle with emotional regulation. I believe that they already possess the skills needed to deal with emotions effectively (we all have them somewhere!), and that within a warm and unconditionally accepting relationship, they will gain more clarity and allow themselves to flourish. I best serve kids, teens, and young adults ages 3-25.
My Background and Approach
My background I received my master's and educational specialist degrees in Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2016. I also earned my National Certified Counselor certification and K-12 School Counseling that year, and have been an elementary school counselor ever since. In 2023, I earned a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Specialist certification from the American School Counseling association. I earned my Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPCA) license in February 2025. I am working under supervision to be certified as a Registered Play Therapist (RPT), and I'm especially interested in Child Centered Play Therapy. I use aspects of person centered theory and play therapy (even with adults- we all need some play!) based on the needs of clients. I am committed to seeking out professional development opportunities to ensure that specific clients are able to get what they need in therapy.
