About My Clients

Do you find your marriage growing distant no matter what you do? You may be fed up with fighting all the time, feeling anxious, or feeling lonely in your relationship. Couples come to me looking to get to the root of the problem, because therapy should be a place where you feel confident changes will last. Sessions with me are about building communication habits. Together, we will help you feel like a team again. And we’ll go at your pace, never pushing you to a place you don’t feel ready to be.

My Background and Approach

I help my clients find emotional closeness, confidence, and security in their relationships by equipping them with the tools they need to understand each other better, and talk about difficult topics in a more easy and comfortable way. Many of today’s solutions for couples are based on quick tips for how to communicate better without working on the underlying causes of emotional disconnection in the relationship. These quick tips may lead to some positive change, but the change often doesn't last very long -- leading so many to feel hopeless that their relationship can improve long-term. I know that your circumstances are unique, so I stay with you through each step as you work to create long-term and lasting change based on the underlying patterns in your relationship. As an experienced marriage counselor who is a Certified Emotionally Focused Therapist, I know all relationships have the potential to be repaired and healed. You don’t have to continue feeling lonely in your marriage.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that marriage counseling is a place for couples to learn to be fully seen and accepted while they build a sense of security in their relationship. I believe that all relationships can be repaired no matter how painful the past has been. I think the main reason couples struggle is because they unintentionally trigger each other's worst fears. When this happens, people lose their emotional balance and couples end up triggering each other back and forth in a vicious cycle. My goal is to help couples communicate feelings more clearly, and improve your ability to understand and empathize with one another. I strive to provide a non-judgemental experience that honors what makes us human. We are relational beings, hard-wired to connect. I welcome all, including sexual orientation, age, race, disability, ethnicity/national origin, gender identity and religious/spiritual affiliation.

I offer online counseling in the following states:
