I believe each individual has the answers within themselves, but we cannot do the work on our own. I am here to be a support and guide.

Living with Bipolar and other Mood Disorders can feel like riding a rollercoaster. There are ups and downs and adjusting can be difficult. I seek to provide clients with the ability to have compassion for themselves as they go through this experience. It is important for people who have a genetic predisposition to these conditions to realize that it is not their fault, and to be supported by the people that surround them. I work to make my clients feel grounded and in control of their lives.
I am a Trained EMDR therapist. I utilize this therapy to treat PTSD, anxiety, depression, and other presenting problems. It is useful for people who find themselves "stuck" and unable to move past problems they have explored in therapy thus far.
My years working at a Residential facility taught me a great deal about PTSD and C-PTSD. I saw how intrusive thoughts, suicidal ideation, self-harm, sleeplessness, and so much more plagued the youth I worked with. I learned to work with people who need to be heard, validated, and provided the tools to manage this experience. I believe in the power of EMDR to treat this condition and see it as a gift for people who can oftentimes feel lost or out of control of their own lives.
Anxiety is something that plagues us all at times. However, some people's anxiety may be more pronounced at times, and some people may never get substantial relief from that mood state. My approach to treating anxiety recognizes that in addition to talking through the anxiety, it is important to act on it as well. I explore the dual purpose of anxiety with my clients and encourage them to find ways to work through what they are thinking and feeling.
