My world and practice is centered around liberation, connection, creativity, and mindfulness: I treat it with reverence and levity.

About My Clients

I enjoy working with many folks, but am especially passionate about working with: elders (self-defined), caregivers, people facing death [and their loved ones], people experiencing grief, people of LGBTQ+ experience, people of diasporic/immigrant experience, intergenerational pairs, friend and family pairs.

My Background and Approach

I was trained as a researcher, transfixed by the dynamics of navigating relationships under the pressure of responsibility, cultural expectations, and limitations of institutions meant to support us. I chose the fields of Social Work for its focus on social justice, and for its' focus on practice as a way to learn, and grow, and transform ourselves and our worlds. After years of working in the non-profit space-- with homebound elders, LGBTQ+ elders, and Latinx communities-- I decided to shift towards more intimate, one-on-one practice through Psychotherapy. I'm eclectic in my approach. I expect everyone to surprise me, and, because of this, on any given day, I draw on any approach that feels relevant. The through lines: mindfulness, creativity, existential therapy, embodiment, and systemic thinking.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Embracing fundamental truths is a practice--that we are going to get sick, that we are going to change, that we are going to grow older, that we are going to die, and that we are agentic. Awareness is an intervention! Action is a love language. Feelings are information. Learning to acknowledge and process them with compassion helps us see things clearer. Every person is a universe, and change unfolds over seconds, minutes, hours, weeks, years, and generations. There is no rush, and there is no limit to what can be explored and revealed. Interconnectedness is fundamental to our existence. Liberation and healing happen through learning to [balance] care for ourselves, our bodies, other beings, and our planet.
