About My Clients
I will show up as my authentic self in therapy sessions with you. I prioritize providing validation and support, while also providing my own insight and gently challenging you during therapy. Together we will explore how your previous experiences may have shaped your current beliefs and ideas about yourself, the world, and others. I believe being vulnerable enough to confront and experience difficult emotions is one of the bravest things a person can do.
My Background and Approach
I have worked in a variety of clinical settings including community mental health centers and university counseling settings. Throughout this training, I have learned and integrated multiple evidence-based approaches, including: cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), humanistic-existential, relational, trauma-focused, and feminist psychology.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe the most important part of therapy is the genuine connection I form with my clients, and I will show up as my authentic self in therapy sessions with you. Together we will explore how your previous experiences may have shaped your current beliefs and ideas about yourself, the world, and others. I believe being vulnerable enough to confront and experience difficult emotions is one of the bravest things a person can do. I am passionate about helping clients explore and celebrate their sexual orientation and gender identity. I am also committed to the lifelong journey of exploration and education in order to understand and address my internalized biases.
