About My Clients
I specialize in working with teens, college students, adults, and athletes of all ages who struggle with anxiety, depression, performance, stress, life transitions, and self esteem. I provide a safe and open environment for clients to feel comfortable in discussing life events that have altered their mental health.
My Background and Approach
I received my Doctorate of Education and Master of Science degrees from the University of Western States with an emphasis in Sport and Performance Psychology. Additionally, I received my Master of Arts degree from Lindenwood University with an emphasis in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have gained experience working with clients of all ages who are feeling anxious, stressed, depressed, or having difficulty with athletic performance. I prefer to use an eclectic approach, as I believe each individual is unique and responds differently to treatment. Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Positive Psychology, and Mental Performance Techniques are some of the few approaches I use to help my clients.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am passionate about assisting clients in recognizing their innate ability for positive and sustainable growth. I encourage clients to take an active role in the planning and progression of their treatment goals. I believe that a trusting and safe client-counselor relationship is foundational for client growth. Clients can expect individualized treatment planning based on my commitment to meet each client where they are in their desire for change. I challenge clients to develop new and creative ways to restructure undesired behavior and thought patterns in hopes of sustainable change. support the empowerment of happiness, compassion, hope, and strength in clients’ everyday lives.
