It is undeniable that the way we think affects the way we act and move through the world. CBT techniques are typically utilized in sessions to challenge the negative self talk that we all fall victim to in our lives. When we change the way we think, our behavior follows.
As a clinician, I believe the best work I can do is to take the knowledge of theories and practices and tailor them to my specific client. It is my job to not be set in one mindset but be open to your unique experiences and find the best and most effective methods and techniques to address your needs.
When using Holistic Therapy, it is important to remember that we are impacted by all things in our life. We need to view our well being from the spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical forms when addressing our healing. I believe knowledge is power. In therapy, we will explore each aspect of our well being to gain a better understanding of ourselves and how we move through the world. You will identify the changes you wish to make and I will guide and support you through this journey.
Growth is something we should never stop doing. I had an old professor that used to say, "You're never done," when asking about ever being finished with anything. That has always stuck with me. Growth mindset is a practice I use in therapy and remind clients that we can develop new skills and ability if we want to through hard work, dedication, and support when needed. My goal is to be the support you need through your journey.
Anxiety is a normal human emotion but sometimes that feeling can overwhelm us and interfere with our daily functioning. I am a huge believer that knowledge is power.
