About My Clients
One thing my clients have shared in the past is a common struggle to find a therapist who “gets it.” My hope is to be there for people who've felt lost, excluded or rejected in systems that so rarely value us as whole people. I particularly enjoy working with the “extremely online” queer community, from TTRPG nerds and fandom folks to people with otherkin or furry identities.
My Background and Approach
I have four years of experience providing counseling in various settings, working with folks who struggled with acute and complex trauma, dissociative disorders, anxiety, depression, addiction, psychosis, and chronic suicidality. My areas of interest also include men’s issues and masculinity, gender expression and transgender care. I have experience writing letters of support for gender-affirming care and am happy to help clients navigate that process in our work together.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My theoretical orientation is ultimately built on unconditional positive regard. This means that no matter what you say or share in therapy, I will accept and support you. We are in this together, in a very real sense, and that means you should be able to expect accountability, transparency and commitment from me as your therapist. I strive to be anti-racist and stand against ableism in my approach to our flawed mental health care system and always welcome feedback on how to improve my practice.
