About My Clients

Do you find yourself constantly stewing in anxiety and worrying what others think about you? Is this worry existential, and you become absorbed in current events and troubling news? Are you struggling to find motivation to just get through the day? I know those feelings can be debilitating, and you do not need to suffer from them anymore. In session, you have a safe place to confide in me, and I look forward to teaching you healthy tools to establish meaning in your life.

My Background and Approach

I graduated from Northwestern University in Mental Health Counseling, and I have had three and a half years experience of working with various mental health concerns: anxiety, depression, eating disorders, psychosis, life transitions, and self-esteem. I have worked with adults, teens, and in group settings. In academia, I researched plenty of content on cult involvement and how that leads to dissociative disorders. I am currently interested in trainings that focus on trauma work, disordered eating, better supporting LGBTQIA, and becoming a competent multicultural counselor.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I strongly believe in equity and support for all and that mental health is just as important as physical health. I value helping others while continuously being open-minded and learning from my clients as much as they learn from me. My practice is adamant about staying informed on important topics, such as the negative mental health effects of Covid and continuing to broaden our multicultural lens during this civil uprising. We have started and participate in a committee on social justice, equity, and diversity. I am an ally for the LGBTQ community and the Black Lives Matter movement. My therapeutic framework takes on a strong feminist lens, which chooses to not only focus on what issues reside within the client but also how society and politics may be affecting their mental health. I am against stigmas and binary ways of thinking, and I meet the client where they are. I truly believe that the power to change already lies within you; I am here to consistently remind you of that.
