About My Clients
I primary work with adult clients with trauma histories. I often hear from clients I work with that they are not living in congruence to their true essence and that they are wanting to feel differently. My role as a therapist is to help my clients to recover their true sense of self by learning to make healthier choices, and to improve the relationship with themselves and others.
My Background and Approach
My experience includes assisting individuals with histories of trauma, mood disorders, and individuals with complex family dynamics. In the community mental health setting, I have had the honor to work with new mothers and fathers, helping them cope with the challenges of parenthood. These challenges range from bringing a new baby home, to dealing with traumatic birth experiences. My therapeutic style is calming yet challenging, dynamic, and conversational. I lean heavily on intuition cultivation.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
When working with clients, I take into consideration how race, class, gender, sexuality, and other social systems intersect to shape people’s experiences. As a result, I practice psychotherapy, consultation, and training that affirms the value of difference. I believe that therapy can be an empowering, fulfilling experience. To achieve this, I create a judgment-free environment where open dialogue and positive change can happen.
