About My Clients
We are all broken people, every one of us. And what do broken people need but healing? The days we live here on this earth leave us with raw broken places, places that can be touched and hurt, or touched and healed. Do you need healing? Do you feel broken? Are You anxious or depressed? Are you going through something in life that seems like too much? Or simply in need of someone to walk with you through the muck of this world?
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Professional, in the State of North Carolina. I have been treating clients for more than four years now. I work with people of all ages, children, teens and young adults, middle-aged adults, and as well as older adults. I have worked with everyone from as young as age two to as old as age 92. I believe in the value of all persons and that problems have psychological, biological, emotional, social, and spiritual dimensions. Health and wholeness come in part by connecting our physical experience (bodies), our cognitions (thoughts), and our emotions. When we divide these we are no longer whole. There are skills that I teach, but primarily for me therapy is about experiencing something new. I aim to offer space for personal, spiritual, emotional, and social growth. Therefore, I promise to do my very best to at all times be honest, open, present, willing, and non-judgmental. Therapy is a unique process for each individual.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I deeply believe in the spiritual and the connection we have to one another and the world around us. I love the creator and cherish all He has given us. I believe that all people should be treated with respect. I believe that pain is pain and all pain hurts. I believe that in sitting with people in their time of pain we can share the pain and lighten the load. I believe that healing happens slowly and sometimes when we aren’t looking. I believe that love heals. I believe that forgiveness is hard, but we can learn how. I believe that our actions make a difference, not just in our lives, but in the lives of others. I believe that people need to feel understood before quality communication can happen. I believe that when we feel understood and cared about, then we can begin to grow and change. I believe growth is hard and slow. I also believe that growth is worth it. I believe that we need each other and we need support. I believe that words are powerful and they have deep meaning.
