About My Clients
As a queer, non-binary, Chinese American, I enjoy working with marginalized populations, especially immigrants, queer, and trans folks. I see individuals, couples, and families who struggle with life transitions, grief, trauma, anxiety, and identity exploration.
My Background and Approach
I graduated from Northwestern University with a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy. During my studies, I adapted models like Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Gottman methods, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for clients with diverse identities. My approach is relational and systemic. This means that I believe the relationship I have with you is central to possible change. I also believe that everything exists within a context. As a therapist, this means I take into account the systems that impact your day-to-day experiences, whether those are family, cultural, or societal systems.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My identity has shaped me to believe in leading with curiosity and respect when I encounter others even in conflict or disagreement. I seek to surround myself with counsel to meet the frictions of the world. If you are looking for a therapist who believes in creating a welcoming and compassionate space, it would be a privilege to accompany you in change.
