About My Clients

Have you struggled to feel understood, like your voice does not matter, or that you are not worth having the future you desire? Have you been through trauma or abuse that you cannot seem to move past and heal from? Transformation is the key for all of my clients. We are not just looking at current problems, but we explore the past to understand the present and change the future.

My Background and Approach

As a Registered Mental Health Intern in Florida, my background has consisted of restaurant management, social work, and various other jobs. I understand the dynamic of a busy life, one in which work never seems to end. I bring this knowledge and understanding with me to the counseling room, as we dive into patterns, trauma, and the unknown. Due to being a dance teacher and incorporating sports or dance for most of my life, I also prioritize exploring how trauma has impacted the physical body. I practice self defense in my spare time as well and incorporate strategic lessons into groups throughout the year. I believe the therapeutic relationship is powerful in creating the conduit for healing. Learning how to form a safe, healthy relationship with appropriate boundaries is something most of us were never taught. Using my own experience, trainings, and therapeutic journey, I will help guide you as you begin yours.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe healing is possible, no matter the trauma. As a survivor of sexual abuse, I have had to walk my own dark roads along the healing journey. At times, I did not believe recovery or the type of life I desired was even possible. Through my own journey, I have learned that not only is it possible for me, but that it is possible for others as well. I believe each person has a voice and a story that is worth telling. Many times, people have not been heard and sometimes the power of therapy comes from simply being able to tell your story without someone judging you or telling you how you "should" live your life. Out of my healing comes my goal as a therapist: to help those who are voiceless have a voice, to help those who believe they do not have a future find hope, to help restore a sense of humanity to those who have been treated as objects, and to show them that the past does not have to define their future. They are more than their trauma.
