About My Clients
The transition from child to teen to young adult can be one of anxiety and confusion. Making and maintaining relationships at any age can feel exhausting. Navigating social expectations while trying to develop your own identity can lead to feelings of anger, frustration, and isolation. But these life transitions and challenges can also be exciting. I am passionate about partnering with my clients to explore and develop their best, most confident selves.
My Background and Approach
I started in the field in New Orleans and became fully licensed while working in New York City, but Charleston has been home since 2019. Through these varying experiences, I have come to consider myself an eclectic therapist, meaning I pull from a variety of modalities. I have a long history of working with clients with trauma and I most often utilize Rogerian (person-centered) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques. I’m happy to explain these theories in more detail with you but, at the end of the day, I believe that the success of therapy is most dependent on the fit of the therapist and client. For that reason, I believe it is more important for you to know that I describe my style as nonjudgmental, inquisitive, and honest. I approach every client with empathy but I also believe that challenging your thinking patterns is essential to growth.
