About My Clients
I work with clients specifically in the areas of relationship or sexuality issues, life transitions, and coping with grief due to illness or losing a loved one. I have worked with clients from many different backgrounds, and I take pride in working for a practice that celebrates diversity and inclusion.
My Background and Approach
My clinical training as a therapist was through Northwestern University's counseling degree program. Prior to entering the counseling field, I received my Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Gender Studies from Saint Louis University and then went to obtain my Master’s and Doctorate degrees in Communication from the University of South Florida. I have extensive experience in university teaching and conduct research in the areas of family communication, interpersonal communication, and grief and bereavement studies. I take a person-centered and collaborative approach to working with clients. Early in the therapeutic relationship, I cultivate a comfortable, safe, and nonjudgemental space for clients to be able to freely voice their concerns. Through our work together, I will help you achieve your goals and be able to live your best and most authentic life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that we are all narrators of our own lives. When faced with situations of adversity, sometimes it feels as if we are trapped in a story we cannot escape. As a mental health professional, I am committed to being by your side during your darkest times—to help you find healing and strength and rewrite the story of your life.
