About My Clients

I work with teens and adults (ages 13+) navigating life transitions, anxiety, depression, and identity exploration. You might be feeling overwhelmed, exhausted from managing difficult emotions alone, or questioning who you are beneath others' expectations. As someone who lives with chronic pain, I bring personal understanding to supporting people with chronic pain or illness. My practice is LGBTQIA+ affirming and grounded in radical body acceptance.

My Background and Approach

Your brain is a brilliant problem-solver—but you are not a problem to be solved. Maybe you're here because things feel overwhelming, or because you've lost touch with who you are underneath all the stress and expectations. I offer a quiet space to slow down and reconnect with yourself. Together, we'll explore what healing and growth mean to you. I draw from person-centered approaches to create a collaborative space where your inherent wisdom guides our work together. When appropriate, I incorporate mindfulness and present-moment awareness to help you develop practical tools for managing difficult emotions and building self-compassion. As someone who lives with chronic pain, I bring both professional training and personal understanding to supporting people with chronic pain or illness. I understand that healing isn't about "fixing" your body—it's about developing a different relationship with your experience and reclaiming your sense of self.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Before becoming a therapist, I spent two decades working for equity in education with underserved populations in Chicago, Central America, and East Africa. This work shaped my understanding that individual wellbeing cannot be separated from the systems and structures that surround us. I carry this lens into my therapeutic practice, recognizing that many of the challenges my clients face are responses to oppression, marginalization, and injustice—not personal failings. I'm deeply committed to immigrant and refugee rights and volunteer in my community supporting these efforts. I believe healing and justice are interconnected—we can't truly thrive as individuals when our neighbors are struggling or facing systemic harm.
