About My Clients
I view my clients as experts in their own lived experiences and collaborate with them to develop an individualized treatment that addresses the unique barriers that are present. My research interests include health disparities, marginalized populations, immigrants, and multicultural competence. I enjoy working with clients presenting concerns such as life transitions, migration stress, depression, anxiety, PTSD/trauma, women’s health issues, and comorbid physical and mental health conditions.
My Background and Approach
I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the University of Missouri – Kansas City. I received both my Master of Arts and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Kansas. I completed my clinical internship at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago and thereafter, my post-doctoral training at the University of Chicago. My research interests include health disparities and marginalized populations, immigrant mental health, and multicultural competence. I strive to create a safe and non-judgmental space, which allows my clients to cultivate authenticity, introspection, skill building, and problem-solving as they navigate various stressors and challenges in their lives.
