About My Clients
I support adults that struggle with self-esteem, depression, anxiety, trauma, self-harming behaviors, gender/sexual identity issues, mood disorders and substance use. I encourage thought provoking and problem-solving conversations around self-love and relationships with others. My goal is to empower you to see your own strengths, and make positive changes. I have a special interest in working with POC and the LGBT+ community.
My Background and Approach
I take a diverse and an all-inclusive approach to therapy. Every person is their own unique self and needs to be understood and seen. I choose to approach therapy to help fit your specific needs. I use mindfulness, motivational interviewing, CBT, and ACT. I am direct but down to earth. Part of therapy is asking tough questions and looking at things that we might avoid because of fear. When we are kind to ourselves, we allow ourselves the time we need to get to where we want to be.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe a lot of things: Black Lives Matter, love is love, spirituality is important, and not every person who uses drugs/alcohol compulsively is an addict. I've learned that with the right support and when someone is ready; change will and can occur. I'm committed to establishing an open and collaborative therapeutic relationship, and offering a safe and supportive, nonjudgmental environment for growth & change.
