About My Clients
As a therapist, I welcome adolescents and adults facing life's challenges, specializing in support for veterans and first responders. My expertise in CPT, CBT, ACT, and existential therapies is tailored to address trauma, depression, and anxiety. With a unique blend of personal and professional experience, I provide a supportive space for healing and growth, focusing on resilience and understanding for all clients, especially those with military or first responder backgrounds.
My Background and Approach
My therapeutic approach is rooted in the belief that clients possess the inner resources needed to carve out their own paths to happiness and success. I focus on evidence-based treatments that delve into the heart of issues, moving beyond mere coping strategies. My methods include cognitive-behavioral therapy, alongside values-based and existential therapies, aiming to facilitate profound personal growth. My 22 years as an infantryman in the U.S. Army, with four deployments in Operations Enduring and Iraqi Freedom, have given me a unique perspective that enriches my work. I earned my Master of Social Work from the University of Utah, where I completed internships at Jordan Valley West's inpatient unit and the PTSD clinic at the Salt Lake City Veterans Medical Center. I'm currently working on my PhD dissertation on the differentiation between PTSD and military transition stress.
