I enjoy working with clients from a wide variety of backgrounds and welcome those with both mild and severe struggles. If you have seen therapists before and have not experienced the results you were looking for, or if you are looking for more than a few new coping strategies, I may be a good fit for you.
My Background and Approach
I encourage clients to work at their own pace and comfort level, using the discoveries and insights from a variety of fields to help clients work toward deeper, lasting emotional healing. I know that most people are not merely looking for a few extra coping strategies, but want real longer-term relief. I offer an approach grounded in effective, evidence-based interventions. In addition to being a licensed professional counselor, I have studied holistic health, a variety of spiritual and philosophical traditions, sociology, and life coaching. I use a client-tailored approach to work with people of a variety of backgrounds and worldviews. I recognize that past distressing experiences can lead to ongoing consequences, from subtle body memories (e.g. feelings of anxiety, tension) to intense PTSD flashbacks. Using EMDR, brainspotting, and somatic techniques, I can help clients release stored body memories, leading to dramatic and expedient improvements in overall quality of life.
