About My Clients

I work with adults navigating complex trauma, dissociation, and gender-affirming care — especially LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent folks who've spent years holding it all together and are ready to stop performing that for a while. If therapy has felt clinical, rushed, or like you had to translate yourself to be understood, you're not alone in that. My practice is a space where all the parts of you — the ones that kept you safe and the ones you're still getting to know — are welcome.

My Background and Approach

My work is collaborative, parts-aware, and paced for the person in front of me. I draw on IFS to help you get to know your inner system without judgment, EMDR for stuck memories, clinical hypnosis for change your thinking mind can't force, and gender-affirming assessment work when that's part of your path. I've trained through the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD), and I bring particular experience with complex trauma, dissociative disorders, and the ways trauma tangles with identity, family systems, and life transitions. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado and the founder of Affirm Counseling. Whether you've been in therapy for years or you're just starting to think about reaching out, we'll move at your pace — I adjust the tools to fit you, not the other way around. If a steady, affirming, in-it-with-you kind of therapy sounds like what you're looking for, I'd be glad to walk alongside you.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I got into this work because I believe therapy should be a place where every part of you is welcome — including the parts systems have told you to hide. My practice is queer- and trans-affirming, and I actively advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community both inside and outside the therapy room. I train fellow mental health professionals in gender-affirming and culturally responsive care, and I speak up when I see harm being done in our field. I believe therapists have a responsibility to be honest about power, systems, and the ways clinical spaces can either heal or replicate harm. Outside of work, I'm an urban homesteader in northern Colorado. I raise animals, grow food, and build things with my hands. That grounding in slow, seasonal, physical work shapes how I show up in the therapy room — patient, present, and unhurried. I believe healing happens in relationship, at the pace of the person doing the healing.
