About My Clients

My clients are highly self-aware, reflective and insightful, and perhaps a bit frustrated with their past experiences in therapy. They are looking to be challenged and grow in ways they can't do on their own. They value different perspectives and are seeking knowledge to help navigate what brings them to therapy in the first place. Some are not actually "feeling their feelings", and instead are thinking about their feelings so they ask, "How do I even begin to feel my feelings?".

My Background and Approach

For the past 15 years, my practice has taken me to many places, literally and figuratively. I currently specialize in assisting people to explore what brings them to therapy more deeply. I believe that knowledge is powerful, and empowering, so if you like to read, or listen to podcasts, or watch documentaries, or even read a research article or two, as an important part of your self development work then we would be a great fit. My current work revolves around three main themes: 1) Exploring childhood experiences and how that informs our adult lives, 2) Navigating death, grief, and losses of all kinds, and 3) Understanding and coping with narcissistic (or many kinds of relational) abuse. All three include implementing skills through the lens of mindfulness, nervous system regulation, narrative therapy psycho-education, and radical acceptance. Theses sometimes veer off to unique paths, and sometimes a good, old fashioned CBT technique can be useful!

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Knowing that your therapist is genuinely a safe space is more important now then ever before. I believe 1) That Bernie's ideas are finally taking the nation by storm and being given the true big moment he has been fighting for his whole life, which is the fight of the PEOPLE, 2) You can take the girl out of Jersey, but you cannot take Jersey out of the girl (completely), 3) Not all people are good people, 4) Self-reflection, personal insight, AND personal responsibility are necessary for real, deep change, 5) Community is everything, 6) American History is PARAMOUNT for us to understand, 7) Travel is medicine, 8) I should have been a lawyer, which brings me to, 9) Where is Judge Judy in all of this??, and lastly, 10) We are all collectively experiencing narcissistic abuse on a grand scale, which the good news is, there are ways to combat this.
