About My Clients
You may be feeling like the lotus flower: stuck and surrounded by muddy murky waters. Its possible to navigate the murky muddy waters much like the lotus flower that rises up and blooms above the water toward the sun. I would be honored to collaborate with you, help you get unstuck, find effective ways to cope, heal, and transform. My goal is to make the process less scary by creating a safe environment with non-judgment and support. I strive to provide a compassionate and holistic approach.
My Background and Approach
I am a client centered therapist and utilize different modalities depending on what each person needs and is wanting to achieve. I am a registered play therapist and yoga instructor and I believe play and addressing the body are important aspects of healing. I also believe using compassion, humor, and at times cussing can all be therapeutic. Some of the approaches I may use are Acceptance and committment therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and solution focused brief therapy, but I recognize those may sound like alphabet soup to someone who is new to therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe everyone has innate strengths and gifts, sometimes things just get buried a bit and we have to find a way to rediscover them.
