Person-centered and other humanistic approaches are a through line in my work as a therapist. My relationship with my clients is the most important aspect of the work we do and I approach it with genuineness and unconditional positive regard.

My graduate program was strongly rooted in psychodynamic and relational theory. Through art making, I help my clients gain insight and explore the dynamics at play in their life both through exploring the past and the present.

I am a board certified art therapist and I have a masters degree in Art Therapy and Creativity Development. Art Therapy is my main modality. I have a background as an artist and an arts educator as well.

I have been working with adolescents in various capacities for the past 15 years. My graduate internship was at a residential facility for adolescents with complex trauma. I currently work at a public high school in Hayward. Adolescents are my primary passion and area of expertise!

I have found that adolescents are especially receptive to art therapy as expressing yourself through art can be an easier way to express difficult emotions and experiences. Through verbally processing the art, it then becomes easier to talk about these difficult topics.

I have long term sobriety myself and am passionate about guiding folks on their addiction/alcoholism recovery journeys.

I specialize in helping teens and adults navigate entering and maintaining their recovery from substance abuse. I have long term recovery myself and am familiar with a variety of outside support for addiction including 12 step programs. Art therapy can be especially helpful for addiction issues: the art process is not only therapeutic and grounding, but the art work you create can help us gain insight into what may be blocking you from reaching your fullest potential in your recovery.
