About My Clients
I work with individuals who feel burnt out, anxious, or disconnected from themselves, often running on autopilot while carrying unprocessed trauma. I also work with couples facing relationship distress: lost connection, communication breakdowns, betrayal, or major life transitions that have shaken their sense of safety together. Some clients come to me struggling with compulsive sexual or romantic behavior, seeking to understand what's underneath the pattern rather than facing it alone.
My Background and Approach
I have nearly eight years of direct clinical experience across child welfare, school based counseling, and integrated behavioral health settings. My approach integrates Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and mindfulness based practices where useful in session. I'm currently completing certification in EFT (Externship and Core Skills completed), and I also hold training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy (Level 1), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). I've developed and led bilingual (English and Spanish) support groups focused on healthy relationships, grief, anxiety, and depression.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I hold a multicultural, trauma-informed lens in all of my work, recognizing that culture, class, and creed shape each client's experience in unique ways. My approach is also influenced by Buddhist psychology, particularly around presence, acceptance, and the belief that healing happens through relationship, both with ourselves and with others. I believe deeply in each client's right to an aligned, fulfilled life, and I see our work together as creating a space where emotional experience can be processed in service of a more connected personal, professional, and relational life.
