As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Gottman trained clinician, I have a lot of expertise in helping couples overcome walls that have been built over the years and heal from disconnect, miscommunication, and hurt. I help couples learn healthy communication and relationship skills that will change the way they function as a couple and create a stable, healthy, loving relationship where each member is heard, understood, and needs get met.

We all sometimes struggle with being the individuals we want to be, especially when we have lost touch with our own identity. I love helping people rediscover (or often, find for the first time) their sense of self and become confident, stable individuals on a path that they choose. When things happen and there are old hurts in the way, people often find themselves running from uncomfortable feelings and coping in unhealthy ways--I help my clients stop running and find peace.

It is so hard being a teenager, in today's world in particular. It can be a real challenge for parents to communicate with their teens and sometimes it feels like you're just overwhelmed and at your wit's end and don't know what to do anymore. Giving your teen a place that feels safe for them to speak and have personal support can change everything. I will help your teen navigate the rough seas of adolescence and come out confidently on the other side--and assist in communication with family.

I believe in reaching the goals you set for therapy as quickly as possible, while realizing it takes the time that it takes. Attaining your goals does not have to be a years long process. SFBT encourages the sessions to have purpose and for each session to be a positive step in the direction of your goals.

Gottman Method couples therapy is single most researched, evidence based couples model in the world. The Gottman Method has given us a wealth of knowledge about not only what the real struggles in many relationships are, but the keys to becoming masters of communication and understanding. I practice the Gottman model to help couples heal, reconnect, and establish functioning, healthy communication patterns where each partner learns to help the other feel heard, understood, and loved.

Animal therapists can team up with human clinicians to maximize the effectiveness of therapy. I utilize animal assisted therapy with clients who are comfortable with it on a regular basis as both an anxiety reduction technique and an engaging way to help clients relax and connect. Animal assisted therapy is not a required part of sessions, but is always offered.
