About My Clients
I work with clients with a variety of issues. I have worked with individuals presenting with the following concerns: sex and sexuality (libido, erectile dysfunction, painful sex, sex and porn addiction...), substance use/addiction, anxiety, depression, trauma, family of origin, support with work/life balance, medical professionals with vicarious trauma, isolation and loneliness, support with healthy attachment, among other concerns.
My Background and Approach
As a social worker, I have a deep commitment to the core values of social work, and they are all integrated into my work with clients, as well as how I live my personal life. The following six core principles of the profession guide my practice: Service, Social Justice, Dignity and Worth of the Person, Importance of Human Relationships, Integrity, Competence. In addition to this foundation, I use psychoanalytic theory, attachment theory, humanistic approaches, body work and mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, and more. My focus is always on the individual experience, not a diagnosis.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My clients always catch themselves and smile when they said "it is not normal" because after a few sessions, they know I am going to ask "what is normal?". I believe that there is beauty in the uniqueness that each individual has to offer. I enjoy working with clients from all backgrounds and walks of life, and attempt to take steps to work with clients of diverse backgrounds. I work with LBTQIA2S individuals, poly/kink, sex workers, and more. I am deeply invested in social justice and do a lot of my own work in this area to ensure I can show up for all clients and create a space where you feel safe and heard. That being said, I do mess up sometimes, and strive to make a space where you can share that with me, so that we can repair together.
