I work to be present and authentic with each of my clients no matter what challenges they face. I offer CBT, DBT and Positive Psychology.
Counselor in Cincinnati, OH
I have extensive training in CBT and use this method as my primary therapeutic modality. Learning to have a new and different relationship with our thoughts is key to becoming more skillful in our responses to situations occurring throughout the day.
I have taken extensive training in DBT, and I find that it provides not only elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy but concrete strategies toward practicing more skillful behaviors. I seek ongoing training in DBT, especially as relates to Self Harm and to Suicidal Thinking.
I have experience as a high school based therapist, and have worked exclusively with adolescents for several years. I enjoy the energy that adolescents bring to therapy and I work to provide a safe and non-judgmental space for them to unpack whatever is troubling them at the time.
I use both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Positive Psychology to help my clients understand the neurological underpinnings of their brain, and how to work to reframe problematic thinking. By teaching my clients the neurobiology of their brain, I seek to give my clients hope that they can change their thinking patterns with practice.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help my clients begin to see how their thinking impacts their reaction to stimuli. I work to teach my clients a new relationship to their thoughts, as well as strategies to soothe especially difficult thinking patterns. I use Positive Psychology to help my clients practice methods of reframing anxious thinking, and I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy strategies to help my clients practice mindful grounding skills during intensely anxious moments.
