About My Clients
I have worked with clients presenting with a range of symptoms associated with depression, anxiety, and trauma. This includes adults, children, adolescents, families, and couples experiencing infidelity. My clients are seeking to understand their origin of symptoms and ways to effectively manage them in an effort to improve self-esteem, confidence, and overall self-image. Clients are also offered a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment.
My Background and Approach
I have a bachelors degree in forensic psychology and a masters degree in mental health counseling. I have been licensed in the state of New York since 2011. I have worked with youths mandated to residential treatment due to psychiatric instability but also youthful sex offenders. I have worked with families that have children at risk of out of home placement. Other experiences include working with couples, children and adults with sexual trauma, and individuals with substance use disorders. My approach is person-centered. Treatment modalities include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. Goals of treatment include understanding the factors and circumstances that have led you to treatment and learning how to change through the implementation of strategies to improve maladaptive behaviors, dysfunctional relationships, and overall self-image.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe we are agents of change and have the capacity to overcome some of life’s greatest challenges. We have all been through some type of life circumstances that have led us to question how we got there, how to get out, and move forward without looking back with regrets or questions. We are all human and with that, we make mistakes. We owe it to ourselves and others to pick up those pieces ]
